MEME DUEL

The loop

• Type the phrase on the paper strip. Every correct letter throws a strike; every 4th hit in a row is a finisher.
• Finish a word for a bonus hit. Finish the whole phrase to play its meme and fire its special move.
• A typo breaks your combo and can invite a counter-attack.
• A match is first to two rounds. Win the last one by KO and you get 6 seconds to finish them: ↓ ↓ → ← then Shift.

Tactical mode

• Three memes appear side by side, each carrying a buff: attack (+50% damage), defense (-45% damage taken) or health (heal 30%).
• Type the first letter of the meme you want to pick it, then keep typing its phrase. Finish it to get the buff.

Controls

A-Z 0-9	Type the phrase. Every letter is for typing.
← →	Walk
↑	Jump: clears low sweeps and grabs
↓	Hold to guard: blocks most damage, but you hit softer
Space	Air launcher (types a space when the phrase needs one)
Enter	Ground slam
Tab	Dash and dodge: a moment of invulnerability
Shift	Throw a meme at the opponent
Caps `	Rage mode
Esc	Pause menu: difficulty, arena, graphics, secret moves

The special moves

Beam finisher	Charge an orb, blast a beam across the arena
Meteor slam	Launch them skyward, spike them into the floor
Meme flurry	Ten rapid strikes ending in a launching kick
Time skip	The screen goes dark, then all the damage lands at once
Power surge	Jump to your next power form and heal

Beating the bot

• Every attack is telegraphed. HEAVY! is slow: Tab away. JUMP! is a low sweep: jump it.
• A red ring with DODGE! is an unblockable ultra: Tab it, time a jump, or hit the bot to interrupt it.
• Hard bots learn: spam one move and they start reading it. Hide behind guard and they grab you.
• There are secret moves. Nothing here will tell you how.
